I have lived in the West Community for 22 years. My husband, Stanley grew up in West and attended West schools. We have two grown daughters, Deanna Vrba, age 25 and Rebecca Kietlinski, age 24, and they both graduated from West ISD. I received my BA from Tarleton State University. I have worked with West ISD since 2002 and this is my seventh year working at Brookhaven Youth Ranch. I truly enjoy working at BYR. I tell my students, " Sometimes, we may take a few detours to finally get to fulfill our goals and/or dreams, but we can make them a reality if we work hard enough." and "Never give up on your dreams! You can make it happen!"
My Mission statement: I believe that education is the most valuable asset that students can acquire. I believe it is my responsibility to provide encouragement, guidance, understanding and assistance to the students as they experience the learning process. It is my desire to provide students the tools they need to investigate, research, and participate in the learning process that will lead them to successful futures and productive careers. It is important to me that all students feel respected, accepted and safe in the learning environment provided to them. I want all the students to know they are welcome to come to me with any educational question or concern and together we will work to find a successful resolution.
